Since 1919, Children's Book Week has been celebrated nationally any place where there are children and books.

Laguna Beach Diet
The AAUW presents Brooks Carder, author of our very own Laguna Beach Diet. Similar to a Mediterranean diet, it is also adapted to the cuisines of Asia and Mexico, representing the ethnic diversity of Southern California. Recipes for simple, delicious meals make this a diet as easy to follow as to enjoy.

Kate Buckley, Poet
The poetry of local wordsmith and painter Kate Buckley is essential, sensual, and full of atmosphere and insight. The stories these poems tell will stay with you long after Ms. Buckley stops reading.
She is also the recent winner of the 2008 James Hearst Poetry Prize for the North American Review.
